Gerald Banks

The Greater Bridgeport Ballet

Gerald Banks was a founding member of Dance Theatre of Harlem. He performed with the company in their first performance at Jacob’s Pillow and their official debut at the Guggenheim Museum.

The Pittsburgh Courier described Banks’ “herculean tenacity” in a 1973 DTH performance. He also performed with the Greater Bridgeport Ballet ca. 1976 and performed leading roles like the Snow Queen’s Cavalier in The Nutcracker.

Later in his life, Banks gave voice lessons in New York City.
