Taurean Green is from the Munjoy Hill neighborhood of Portland, Maine, where he first discovered ballet at a local performance of The Nutcracker<\/em>. Green was accepted into Portland School of Ballet\u2019s scholarship program, which provides funding for foster children and underrepresented groups. Just a year later, he performed in The Nutcracker<\/em>.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

Green attended San Francisco Ballet School\u2019s summer intensive on scholarship and left high school early to move to New York, starting his professional career. As a member of the Dance Theatre of Harlem, he toured internationally.<\/div>\n
When the company went on a hiatus, Green moved to the West Coast to join Pacific Northwest Ballet and Company C Contemporary Ballet in San Francisco. He returned to Dance Theatre of Harlem in 2011.<\/div>\n

Throughout his career, Green has performed lead roles in Michael Smuin’s A Song for Dead Warriors<\/em>, Arthur Mitchell\u2019s St. Louis Woman<\/em>, Don Quixote<\/em>, George Balanchine\u2019s Apollo<\/em>, A Midsummer Night’s Dream<\/em>, The Four Seasons<\/em>, La Bayadere<\/em>, and Jerome Robbins’ Fancy Free<\/em>.<\/p>\n
