Rupert Edwards III is a native of both Jamaica and Hartford, Connecticut and trained at the School of Hartford Ballet. Edwards has danced professionally with numerous companies: Hartford Ballet, American Repertory Ballet, Boston Ballet, Tulsa Ballet (as a demi-soloist), and Houston Ballet (from 2010 to 2016). With HB, he originated a role in Edward Liang\u2019s Murmuration<\/em> (2013), and his repertoire included Stanton Welch\u2019s Swan Lake<\/em>, Madame Butterfly<\/em> and Romeo and Juliet<\/em>; Ronald Hynd\u2019s The Merry Widow<\/em>; Ben Stevenson\u2019s The Nutcracker<\/em>, Dracula<\/em> and The Sleeping Beauty<\/em>; Anna-Marie Holmes\u2019 Don Quixote<\/em>; Rudy van Dantzig\u2019s Romeo & Juliet<\/em>; George Balanchine\u2019s Prodigal Son<\/em>; and Graham Lustig\u2019s Cinderella<\/em>.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

He has performed as a guest artist with Victoria Ballet Theatre in Victoria, TX; Uptown Dance Company; Orange County Regional Ballet; and Ballet Des Moines.<\/div>\n

Edwards is a part-time instructor at Houston Ballet Academy and married fellow dancer Karina Gonzalez-Edwards, principal dancer with Houston Ballet, in 2016.<\/p>\n
