James E. Goree, born to J.B. Goree and a mother of an unknown name, grew up in Los Angeles and graduated from Grenada Hills High School in 1981. As a dancer with Dance Theatre of Harlem, Goree performed in George Balanchine\u2019s The Four Temperaments<\/i>, Geoffrey Holder\u2019s Dougla<\/i>, and Billy Wilson\u2019s Concerto in F<\/i>, among others. In 1988, he performed the role of the Sugar Plum Fairy’s Cavalier in Ballet South’s production of The Nutcracker<\/em>. The following year, The Los Angeles Times<\/em> said Goree displayed “touching vulnerability” in his role of the Father in Agnes de Mille’s Fall River Legend<\/em>.<\/p>\n
