Tyrone Singleton<\/strong><\/h2>\n

Birmingham Royal Ballet: Principal (2003-present)<\/strong><\/h2>\n

\"\"<\/a>Tyrone Singleton trained at the Royal Ballet School and the Tring Park School for the Performing Arts. In 2003, he began work with the Birmingham Royal Ballet director David Bently. Since joining, he has danced many notable roles such as: Romeo (Romeo and Juliet<\/em>), the Prince (The Nutcracker<\/em>), Cavalier (The Sleeping Beauty<\/em>), Franz (Coppelia<\/em>), Prince Seigfried (Swan Lake<\/em>), and Apollo (The Orpheus Suite<\/em>), to name a few, and in 2013 was promoted to principal.<\/p>\n

Singleton has performed as a guest artist for National Ballet of Japan and is the 2003 recipient of the Solo Seal award.<\/p>\n

Singleton\u2019s repertoire with Birmingham Royal Ballet includes Frederick Ashton\u2019s La Fille mal gard\u00e9e<\/em> (Colas) and Dante Sonata<\/em> (Child of Darkness); George Balanchine\u2019s Slaughter on Tenth Avenue<\/em> (Big Boss), Stravinsky Violin Concerto<\/em>, and Agon<\/em>; David Bintley\u2019s The Tempest<\/em> (Caliban), Cinderella<\/em> (Prince), Beauty and the Beast<\/em> (Beast), Edward II<\/em> (Gaveston, Mortimer), Aladdin<\/em> (‘Ruby’), Carmina burana<\/em> (Third Seminarian), The Prince of the Pagodas<\/em> (King of the South), ‘Still Life’ at the Penguin Caf\u00e9<\/em> (Southern Cape Zebra), The Nutcracker Sweeties<\/em> (Peanut Officer), The Orpheus Suite<\/em> (Apollo), The Seasons<\/em> (‘Summer’), The Shakespeare Suite<\/em> (Othello), Cyrano<\/em> (Le Bret), Hobson’s Choice<\/em> (Salvation Army), Take Five<\/em> (‘Two Step’) and Faster<\/em>; John Cranko\u2019s The Lady and the Fool<\/em> (Moondog); Mikhail Fokine\u2019s Petrushka<\/em> (The Moor); Kenneth MacMillan\u2019s Romeo and Juliet<\/em> (Lead role), Elite Syncopations<\/em> (‘Bethena Concert Waltz’) and Concerto pas de deux<\/em>; Hans van Manen\u2019s Twilight<\/em>; Rudolph Nureyev\u2019s Raymonda<\/em> Act III (pas de quatre); Marius Petipa\u2019s Don Quixote<\/em> pas de deux; Twyla Tharp\u2019s In the Upper Room<\/em> and Nine Sinatra Songs<\/em> (‘One for My Baby’); Peter Wright’s productions of The Nutcracker<\/em> (Prince), The Sleeping Beauty<\/em> (Cavalier), and Copp\u00e9lia<\/em> (Franz); and Peter Wright and Galina Samsova’s production of Swan Lake<\/em> (Prince Siegfried, Baron von Rothbart).<\/p>\n
