Tyson<span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> began dancing at the age of five at the Ballethnic Academy of Dance under the direction of <a href=\"https:\/\/mobballet.org\/index.php\/2017\/06\/08\/nena-gilreath\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Nena<\/a> and Waverly Lucas. As an apprentice at Ballethnic Dance Company, she performed the role of Brown Sugar in <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Urban Nutcracker<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> at just 16 years old. Ms. Tyson was selected to the Governor\u2019s Honors Program in the summer of 2005 as a dance major. She was chosen to go to Las Vegas, NV to participate on the TV show <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">So You Think You Can Dance<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> in season eight.
