Britt Jr. \u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0<\/strong><\/h2>\n<h2><strong>Ballet Memphis<br \/>\n<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft size-full wp-image-753\" src=\"http:\/\/mobballet.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/01\/Kendall-G.-Britt-Jr.-small.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"146\" height=\"219\" \/>Kendall G. Britt Jr. has danced in several Steven McMahon ballets including the title role in <em>Peter Pan<\/em> as well as the roles of Romeo and Mercutio in <em>Romeo and Juliet<\/em>, the Prince in <em>Cinderella<\/em>, and the Lion in <em>Wizard of Oz<\/em>. He danced in Matthew Neenan\u2019s <em>The Darting Eyes<\/em>, in Gabrielle Lamb\u2019s<em> I Am A Woman: Moult<\/em>, and in Julia Adam\u2019s <em>I Am A Child<\/em>. Britt also danced the memorable role of Puck in Mark Godden\u2019s <em>A Midsummer Night\u2019s Dream<\/em> and the Prince in <em>Nutcracker<\/em>. Britt was selected by Robert Battle\u2013artistic director of Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater\u2013to perform his prestigious &#8220;Takademe&#8221; solo. He has performed soloist roles in Julia Adam\u2019s <em>Seven Threads <\/em>and<em> Curtain of Green<\/em>, in Petr Zahradn\u00edek\u2019s <em>The Hurdle Runner<\/em>, and in Trey McIntyre\u2019s <em>High Lonesome<\/em>, among others. In July 2013, Britt danced with fellow company member Hideko Karasawa at the prestigious Ballet Asteras 2013 gala in Tokyo. Before joining Ballet Memphis, Britt trained on full scholarship at the Pacific Northwest Ballet School and Ballet Academy East. He also attended Fiorello H. LaGuardia High School of Music &amp; Art and Performing Arts. Britt is a 2006 National Foundation for Advancement in the Arts youngARTS merit scholarship recipient.
