Olinda Davis was a founding member of Dance Theatre of Harlem. In January 1971, Davis performed with the company in their official debut at the Guggenheim.

Davis played the role of the priestess in Arthur Mitchell’s Rhythmetron, which Minneapolis’ Star Tribune said she performed “with a controlled but free style.”

Davis married fellow DTH member Lazar Dano, whom she later divorced. Still in New York, together they ran an exercise center for pregnant women.
