Ashley Eleby
Charlotte Ballet (2023 – present)
Born and raised in Atlanta, Georgia, Ashley began dancing at the age of three training at various dance schools around Atlanta. During the summer, she attended summer intensives at Charlotte Ballet, University of North Carolina School of the Arts, and later, the International Summer Dance Intensive. Following high school, she went to college earning a B.F.A in Ballet and a B.A in Business receiving the Gold Key, an award for academic achievement as well as graduating with honors. She was invited to Vancouver to participate in what was formerly Arts Umbrella’s PReP program under the direction of Lesley Telford and hired for Bard on the Beach by Artemis Gordon. During her studies and travel, she was able to learn and perform repertoire by choreographers such as Jiří Kylián, Crystal Pite, Lesley Telford, William Whitener as well as Jon Ole Olstad. After relocating to Atlanta due to the pandemic, she performed with several companies. Most recently, she participated in Rainbow Serpent Collective’s production of Four World Ages, a multimedia project inspired by a west African Igbo myth about the ages of humanity featured as a dance film and live performance.
