Dance Theatre of Harlem: Soloist (1985-1993)

Valencia Yearwood trained at the Dance Theatre of Harlem school. After receiving her BS in Biology from Syracuse University, Yearwood returned to the school and was asked to join the company. Yearwood eventually rose to the rank of soloist.

After her time performing classical ballet, she went on to join the Broadway casts of Once Upon a Mattress in 1996 and The Lion King in 1997.
Her film and television credits include featured roles on Law & Order and The Cosby Show as well as several national and regional commercials. She has also worked as a voiceover actor, singer, print model, producer and director.

Yearwood is the owner of Linci Productions, Inc., a company that “helps individuals, non-profits, and corporations develop their presentational skills through classes, private coaching, and mentoring programs.” She has previously been the Chair of the Board of Directors for 651 Arts in Brooklyn, NY and is a member of the Dance Advisory Committee for the New Jersey Performing Arts Center.
