Deborah Sullivan

Capitol Ballet

Deborah Sullivan appeared in several pieces with the Capitol Ballet on November 20, 1977 at the Lisner Auditorium. Her repertoire included Joyce Trisler’s Dance for Six, Hinton Battle’s Hinty, and Doris W. Jones’ Rhapsody in Blue. It is not known if Sullivan performed elsewhere or with the company on other occasions. 

Note: It is not definite that Deborah Sullivan was Black as we have no photographic or written evidence, but based on her status as a member of a historically Black company, she has been included in MoBBallet’s Roll Call.
