Originally from West Palm Beach, Florida, Maia Montgomery began her formal dance training at age 11, training privately under Julie Bravata.
In 2017, she joined Next Generation Ballet in Tampa, Florida, where she performed in Le Corsaire, the principal role in Cinderella, and as Dew Drop in The Nutcracker. Montgomery sites performing George Balanchine’s Western Symphony during her time at Next Generation Ballet as a key moment in her career, where she learned how to be free and have fun on stage. In 2019, Montgomery joined Pittsburgh Ballet Theatre’s Graduate School. During her three years there, she was able to perform roles in Giselle, The Nutcracker, and Swan Lake.
In addition to dancing, Montgomery collaborates on various photography projects and is pursuing a degree in Journalism. When she’s not in the studio, she enjoys painting, reading, and writing.
