Capitol Ballet

Thomas Kelley (also written as Kelly) performed with the Capitol Ballet in several pieces on November 20, 1977 at the Lisner Auditorium: Doris W. Jones’ Black Pilgrims and Rhapsody in Blue. It is not known if Kelley performed elsewhere with the Capitol Ballet or other companies.

Note: It is not definite that Thomas Kelley was Black as we have no photographic or written evidence, but based on his status as a member of a historically Black company, he has been included in MoBBallet’s Roll Call.
