Ross Allen

National Ballet of Canada: Apprentice (2020-present)

Ohio native Ross Allen studied ballet at the School of American Ballet, Arenas Dance Company in Pennsylvania, and Pittsburgh Ballet Theatre.
Allen was part of the first group of SAB students to perform a William Forsythe piece for a workshop. In the workshop, he performed lead roles in Forsythe’s New Sleep and in George Balanchine’s Bourree Fantasque. He was praised for the “particularly elegant epaulement” he showcased at this performance.
Allen choreographed for the school’s student choreography program in both 2018 and 2019.
After four years at SAB, Allen was awarded a Mae L. Wein Award for Outstanding Promise.

Allen joined the National Ballet of Canada as an apprentice in 2020.

Allen was a participant in the very first in-person MoBBallet Symposium: Inspiration, Education, Perspiration, held in Philadelphia in 2019 and hosted by Pennsylvania Ballet. His mentor was MoBBStar William Isaac.
