Matthew Frezzell began his training with Janina Bove and Suzanne Lownsbury Long at Ballet Virginia International. He was selected as one of 13 students to attend the summer program of Virginia’s Governor’s School for the Arts in 2014 before starting at the Orlando Ballet School Academy in 2015.
The next year, Frezzell became a trainee at Orlando Ballet and joined their second company in 2017. His repertory with Orlando Ballet II included Romeo and Juliet, Piano Concerto No. 2, Swan Lake, and The Firebird.

After joining San Diego Ballet in 2018, Frezzell performed the roles of Basilio in Don Quixote and Bottom in A Midsummer’s Night Dream. He left in 2020 and joined Columbia City Ballet.
