Billy Wilson and Chip Garnett

Return Back to Billy Wilson’s orbit in The Constellation Project

Billy Wilson met Chip Garnett when Wilson was conducting auditions for Bubbling Brown Sugar. Garnett had a “voice to make everyone swoon,” and was then cast as Jim / Nightclub singer. From here their relationship blossomed, and other than additionally assisting Wilson on both Eubie and Stop the World, Garnett and Wilson were partners for 18 years. Garnett even helped raise Wilson’s children, and the pair lived together until they passed away from HIV/AIDS six months apart.
