James Vessell
Ballet Memphis (2015)
James Vessell was previously a member of Ballet Memphis, coming to the company from the Joffrey Ballet Concert Group in New York City, performing in works by George Balanchine, Robert Battle, Africa Guzman, and Gerald Arpino, among others. He studied dance at Wayne State University in Detroit and performed in a variety of ballets while there, including Hissy Fits by Dwight Rhoden, Different Trains by Ron Todorowski, Rouge by Julie Bour, and 12 Inches Familial by Nicholas Leichter. He also has done summer intensives at Complexions Contemporary Ballet in New York City and at American Ballet Theatre’s program in Detroit.
