Mr. Batista attended The Royal Ballet School and is a graduate of the English National Ballet School. He also holds a degree in Dance from Trinity College London, UK. He danced with Miami City Ballet, The National Ballet of Canada, Boston Ballet, and Cincinnati Ballet before joining Oklahoma City Ballet as a principal dancer in 2017. Mr. Batista has performed soloist and principal roles in ballets by George Balanchine, Rudolf Nureyev, John Neumeier, Harald Lander, Val Caniparoli, Sir Frederick Ashton, Christopher Wheeldon, August Bournonville, and Maurice Bejart. Additionally, he has worked with choreographers such as Alexei Ratmansky, Annabelle Lopez Ochoa, Liam Scarlett, Ma Cong, and others. Mr. Batista has appeared as a guest principal with Cia Ballet de Rio de Janeiro and United Ballet Theatre as well as in gala performances all over the world.

Since joining Oklahoma City Ballet, Mr. Batista has performed in Robert Mills’ Swan Lake, The Nutcracker, The Little Mermaid, and The Means To Fly, in addition to performing in Helen Pickett’s Petal and Jiří Kylián’s Petite Mort. Mr. Batista also shares his knowledge of dance as a guest ballet master, private mentor, and choreographer for dance conventions and dance competition studios in Oklahoma City and across the United States with his project, “Master Classes on Tour.”
