Capitol Ballet Company and Leroy Cowan

Leroy Cowan was a notable member of the Capitol Ballet Company. At the company’s production Capitol Ballet Company in Concert at Howard University, on November 21, 1973, Cowan performed in Hinty, Asha I, Three Black Cries, Flair For Movement, and the Ebony Concerto pas de deux, for which he, along with Sandra Fortune Green, received positive reactions from the critics. In another production, Piloting Capitol Ballet Clipper, Flight #4874 ‘Around the World,’ performed in 1974, Cowan performed in the “Redskin Fans and Admirers” (in “XIV. Dulles Airport, Washington, DC”),  “Beale Street” (in “II. International Airport, New Orleans”), and “Montego Bay, North Shore” (in “X. Montego Bay Airport, Jamaica”).
