Virginia Ballet Theatre
Dance Theatre of Harlem: Principal

Lorraine Graves was a member of Virginia Ballet Theatre before joining the Dance Theatre of Harlem. She rose to the rank of principal dancer and performed with the company for 17 years. While still performing with the company, she also acted as ballet mistress and rehearsal director. Prior to that, she graduated from Indiana University in three years.

Graves is on permanent guest faculty with the Dance Theatre of Harlem, Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater, and the Virginia School of the Arts.
