New York Negro Ballet

Dorothey Jimenez studied under Marion Cuyjet at the Judimar School. In 1957, Jimenez joined Ward Fleming’s New York Negro Ballet. She performed alongside Anthony Bassae, Elizabeth Ann Thompson, Delores Browne, and Cleo Quitman. Jimenez joined the company on their tour throughout the UK: to New Castle, Edinburgh, Sheffield, Liverpool, Manchester, Nottingham, and Cardiff.

*Jimenez’s first name is sometimes spelled “Dorothy.”
